Darwin Airport to get explosive detection machines

Darwin Airport will get a pair pf Explosive Trace Detection machines as part of a $2m initiative to upgrade airport security.

Darwin Airport is set to receive a pair of Explosive Trace Detection machines by the end of the year.

The $100,000 machines come as part of $200 million federal government initiative to beef up airport security that will fund a raft of new measure including full body scanners, multi-view X-ray machines and additional security dogs.

The explosives detection machines are already in use across most major Australian airports.
