The first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to undergo change incorporation work has left Boeing’s facility in San Antonio, Texas, and should be delivered to Japan Air Lines soon.
During change incorporation, aircraft built prior to final certification are updated to reflect production specifications. Boeing said work on the 787s includes installing electronic and mechanical equipment, completing software upgrades and removing and reworking wiring.
A total of six Dreamliners are scheduled to go through change incorporation, which is expected to continue through 2013, Boeing says.
Launch customer ANA began commercial fights of the long delayed 787 in October.
