Lockheed Martin moves into commercial aviation simulation

written by WOFA | November 4, 2011

Lockheed Martin today announced the purchase of a Dutch commercial aviation simulation company, Sim-Industries B.V. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lockheed said the acquisition would help it expand its existing military simulation business into civil aviation.

Founded in 2004, Sim-Industries has established itself as a leader in single aisle commercial aircraft simulators for the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320, the company said in a statement. It is also finalising development of a twin aisle simulator for the Airbus A330.
