Airbus has announced a pair of deals for more than 100 of its A320 Family airliners.
The European jetmaker inked a memorandum of understanding to sell 75 of the single aisle aircraft to Spirit Airlines, a budget carrier serving the southeastern US and Caribbean region. The deal includes 45 next generation A320neos and 30 A320s.
Airbus also announced a firm order for 30 A320neos from Aviation Capital Group, a US based aircraft leasing company.
Both deals were announced at the Dubai Airshow.
Airbus says the fuel efficient A320neo, scheduled to begin delivery in 2015, has now received more than 1,300 orders and commitments from 23 customers since it was launched in December 2010.
