Transaero has firmed up an order for eight Airbus A320neos, building on a memorandum of understanding signed by Russia’s second largest airline in August.

The A320neo, featuring updated engine options and wingtip ‘sharklet’ devices designed to improve fuel efficiency, is scheduled to begin deliveries in 2015.

Transaero will select an engine option at a later date, Airbus said. The A320neo is available with either the CFM LEAP-X or the Pratt &Whitney PurePower PW1100G engines.
