Air New Zealand’s new all black Boeing 777-300ER — billed as the world’s largest black aeroplane — arrived in Auckland yesterday.
ZK-OKQ, part of the carrier’s sponsorship of New Zealand’s world champion All Blacks rugby team, joined what is billed as the world’s smallest black aircraft, a 19-seat Beech 1900D turboprop operated by subsidiary Eagle Air, which entered service this week.
The noir livery, which features a silver leaf design over a black background, is also featured on a pair of the carrier’s Airbus A320s, with two more Beech 1900Ds set to get the makeover.
