Airservices offers scholarships for female pilots

written by australianaviation.com.au | January 16, 2012

Airservices Australia says time is running out for aspiring female pilots to apply for flight training scholarships.

The scholarships, valued at $8000 each, can be used for initial pilot training or towards the cross-country flying component of a private pilot licence.

Members of the Australian Women Pilots’ Association aged 16 and over with a demonstrated aptitude for flying are eligible. Four scholarships are available, with applications closing at the end of January.

“We hope these scholarships will encourage women who are passionate about flying to become active, long term members of the aviation community and beyond,” Airservices spokesman Rob Walker said.
