Boeing and Indonesia’s Lion Air today finalised a record order for 230 737 airliners. The deal, worth US$22.4 billion at list prices, was first announced in November.

The order includes 201 737 MAX and 29 737-900ER aircraft plus purchase rights for 150 additional planes.

The eye opening deal — Lion Air currently operates a fleet of 67 aircraft —  has sparked renewed speculation that Lion Air could attempt to enter the Australian market after a previous attempt fell through.
