Virgin Australia has announced plans to launch an extra daily service between Melbourne and Hobart and build a new premium lounge at Hobart Airport.

The announcement coincides with the launch today of a priority boarding service for premium passengers at Hobart Airport, part of a larger effort by Virgin to expand its business offerings.

The additional flights will commence in September, increasing Virgin’s total flights between Melbourne and Hobart from 62 to 76 and its total flight to and from Tasmania to more than 200.

Virgin’s new 75-seat premium lounge, set to open next year, will include business facilities, entertainment and a designer buffet, Virgin said.
