UniSA Aviation School to expand

written by australianaviation.com.au | April 23, 2012

The University of South Australia’s Aviation School will expand its facilities at Parafield Airport in response to an international pilot shortage.

The expansion includes new pre-flight, dispatch and post flight teaching facilities.

“This will significantly benefit the learning and teaching at the Aviation Academy, and will allow us to take on more students each year, which will in turn impact on the airline industry,” said Neil Hyland, the academy’s head of aviation.

Hyland said the growth of budget carriers and the rapid expansion of air travel in Asia had led to a pronounced shortage of qualified pilots.
