Virgin Australia is sprucing up the interior of its international fleet of Boeing 777s with new seat fabrics and carpets.

Seats across all three classes will receive extra padding and new covers and headrests as part of the redesign, which will bring the widebody aircraft in line with the rest of Virgin’s fleet. The airline said the new design was inspired by the  “leaf designs” on the ceilings and floors of Virgin’s lounges and would deliver a “fresh and contemporary new look.”

The first redesigned 777 went into service today, with the rest of the fleet scheduled for the refresh over the course of 2012.
