ATR announces Farnborough orders

An order for two ATR 72-600 turboprops was among a series of orders announced by the European planemaker during the Farnborough Airshow. (ATR)

European turboprop maker ATR has announced a series of aircraft orders at the Farnborough Airshow in the UK. They include:

  • An Air Lease Corporation order for two ATR 72-600s. The deal represents the conversion into firm orders of two of the 10 options ALC included in a previous deal signed at the 2010 Farnborough Airshow. Deliveries are slated for 2013.
  • A Lao Airlines order for two ATR 72-600s valued at $47 million. Deliveries are scheduled late 2012 and 2013.
  • A firm order from Taiwan-based TransAsia for eight ATR 72-600s plus an option for one additional aircraft. Deliveries of the aircraft, valued at $210 million, are scheduled to run from 2014 through 2017.
  • An order from Danish leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital for a single ATR 42-600.
