China’s Hebei Airlines has purchased five Embraer E-190 passenger jets in a deal that will bring its E-190 fleet to seven aircraft.

The agreement, valued at $226 million at list prices, was announced yesterday at the Farnborough Airshow. Embraer said it expected to deliver the planes by the end of 2013.

Shijazhuang-based Heibei currently operates two E-190s on roughly 70 flights per week covering eight destinations.
