The Royal Thai Army will acquire two UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters through the US Foreign Military Sales program, making it the first southeast Asian country to fly the latest version of the workhorse rotorcraft.

The UH-60M incorporates a variety of enhancements including a digital glass cockpit, advanced flight control system, a state-of-the-art communications suite, full night vision device capability for night operations, and other improvements that reduce pilot workload, increase lift, and provide better protection and enhanced survivability. Sikorsky expects to deliver its 500th UH-60M to the US Army this summer.

The company says more than 3000 Black Hawks are currently in use with 30 countries.
