Indonesia is close to a deal to buy six more RAAF C-130s.

Australia is close to a deal to sell six C-130H Hercules airlifters to Indonesia, officials in that country have confirmed.

The price tag for the aircraft, which the RAAF is retiring at the end of the year, was said to be roughly US$15 million each.

“This would be a good deal for us. The price is good,” Indonesia Defense Ministry spokesman Brig Gen Hartind Asrin told the Jakarta Post. “After being refurbished, the planes will be just like new, with their mileages set to zero again.”

Australia donated four C-130H aircraft to Indonesia earlier this year as the two countries move toward closer defence ties.
