Gulftream G280 gets FAA nod

written by australianaviation.com.au | September 7, 2012
Gulfstream's G280 was initially known as the G250.

Gulfstream’s new G280 business jet has received type certification from the FAA and the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel, clearing the way for first delivery by the end of the year.

A joint venture between Gulfstream and Israel Aerospace Industries, the G280 offers a range of 3,600nm (6,667km) at Mach 0.80 and is advertised as the only mid-sized aircraft that can reliably fly between London and New York. The aircraft is available in three configurations seating between eight and ten.

Gulfstream said it expects to deliver the first G280 later this year to an unnamed US-based customer.
