Fiji Airways has announced the introduction of two new international services from Suva, the capital of Fiji.
Beginning in May next year, Fiji Airways will offer two direct flights a week between Suva and Sydney, and from Suva to Apia, Samoa.
The airline plans to operate its Boeing 737-700 aircraft on the Suva to Sydney route, while the Suva-Apia service will use the ATR 72 aircraft being acquired by its subsidiary carrier Pacific Sun.
Fiji Airways stated on Thursday that the introduction of the new services is the first outcome of the airline’s five-year strategic plan, which is focused on network growth and supporting tourism in Fiji. The airline is expected to make further announcements relating to the implementation of its strategic plan early next year.
