IndiGo expands network with new Hyderabad to Bangkok routeIndiGo has announced the initiation of daily direct flights connecting Hyderabad and Bangkok starting from February 26, 2024. The service aims to improve direct travel options between the two cities, subsequently facilitating connectivity to broader regions within Southeast Asia. This marks the airline’s inaugural direct route from Hyderabad to Bangkok, subsequently enhancing its international portfolio from eight to fourteen destinations connected to Hyderabad within a year’s span. As part of its existing network, IndiGo already operates flights connecting several Indian cities to Bangkok, and with the addition of Hyderabad, the airline will ramp up its operations to a total of 37 weekly flights to Bangkok, making Hyderabad the sixth Indian city to have direct flights to the Thai capital.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales for IndiGo, commented on the launch: “We are extremely pleased to announce our operations from Hyderabad to Bangkok, in-line with our vision to enhance accessibility across Southeast Asia. With the introduction of this new route, IndiGo now offers 57 direct flights a week to Thailand from six cities in India (37 flights to Bangkok & 20 flights to Phuket). The new route not only signifies our commitment to expanding connectivity but also serves as a bridge between two culturally rich destinations. As India’s leading carrier, our aim is to continue delivering on our promise of providing affordable, on-time, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences.”

Bangkok is recognised as a prominent destination for its diverse attractions, which include a rich culinary culture, active nightlife, and various shopping districts. The city’s economic activities encompass sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism. It is also noted for its historical and modern attractions, including palaces, high-rise buildings, museums, and unique marketplaces like the Floating Market and Safari World, as well as entertainment venues such as Siam Ocean World, Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise, and Siam Park City.
