American Airlines scores big with new Texas Rangers partnership

American Airlines has announced a multiyear partnership with the Texas Rangers, the reigning World Champions, positioning itself as the Official and Exclusive Airline and Airline Rewards Program of the team. This collaboration promises to bring a range of marketing and sponsorship benefits that aim to engage baseball fans both within the community and on a broader scale.

Ron DeFeo, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at American, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership. “This partnership is a home run for both American and baseball fans,” he said. He highlighted the alignment between the airline’s mission of connecting people and places with the joy of connecting fans to the excitement of baseball and creating unforgettable moments, especially for AAdvantage members.

The partnership extends beyond mere sponsorship, promising unique opportunities that aim to enhance the fan experience. These include the chance to throw the first pitch at a game, enjoy suite seats, and experience meet-and-greets with players, among other exclusive perks. Participation in these experiences is exclusive to AAdvantage® members, with opportunities for U.S. residents aged 18 and over to win specific prizes by signing up daily at a designated website.

Additionally, the activation of this sponsorship will feature an American Airlines-branded field-level First Base Lounge at Globe Life Field, further cementing the relationship between American Airlines and the Texas Rangers. This isn’t the first instance of collaboration between the two; they have partnered previously on community initiatives through the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, reflecting a deep-rooted partnership that extends beyond the playing field.

Jim Cochrane, Executive Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer of the Texas Rangers, highlighted the long-standing relationship between the airline and the baseball foundation since 2022. “American has been a great partner of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation since 2022, working closely with our team to provide meaningful opportunities to deserving recipients,” Cochrane stated. He expressed excitement over the new agreement, emphasizing the fan-oriented initiatives that the partnership would foster, including an exclusive rewards program for AAdvantage members.
