Bombardier launches innovative maintenance program for defense sector clientsIn a significant expansion of its services, Bombardier has introduced Smart Services Defense, a pioneering program tailored to meet the distinctive needs of its defence clientele. The program offers cost-per-flight-hour coverage for various components of Challenger and Global series aircraft, including airframe system components and landing gear overhaul, specifically catering to operators involved in special missions, medical evacuations, and transportation for heads-of-state and government officials.

Smart Services Defense is designed for high-utilisation clients who require bespoke maintenance plans due to their unique operational profiles. This initiative is bolstered by Bombardier’s impressive portfolio of 500 specialised business aircraft worldwide, accumulating over 3 million fleet hours across more than 160 operators in over 50 countries.

“Smart Services Defense is the perfect solution for our special mission, medevac, head-of-state and government operators who want an easy option when it comes to all their maintenance needs, offering budget predictability and cost protection,” stated Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President of Aftermarket Services & Strategy at Bombardier. He further mentioned that customers could customise their maintenance program for maximum peace of mind, offering a suite of optional maintenance and operational cost offerings.

The program provides comprehensive coverage for significant maintenance costs, including but not restricted to, aircraft systems components (scheduled and unscheduled), landing gear overhaul, and APU coverage for all Global platforms. Additionally, it includes parts shipping, access to technical publications, and a guaranteed flight-hour rate, among other benefits.

Bombardier has also offered optional enhancements to the Smart Services Defense program, such as coverage for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, support from the Mobile Response Team (MRT), the Smart Link Plus connected aircraft program, and comprehensive onsite support, ensuring a broad spectrum of support services tailored to the clients’ specific requirements.
