Air New Zealand resumes direct seasonal flights between Cairns and Auckland

Air New Zealand has restarted its direct seasonal flights between Cairns and Auckland, offering Cairns holidaymakers the opportunity to explore New Zealand’s stunning ski slopes and vibrant city life. The flights, which operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with an additional Thursday service from 25 June to 26 October, will be available between 2 April and 26 October.

The new direct route to Auckland provides Australians with access to 20 destinations across New Zealand, using Auckland as a gateway. Travelers can explore vibrant cities like Wellington, immerse themselves in the natural beauty of iconic ski slopes in Queenstown, or visit the wineries in destinations like Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough.

Air New Zealand’s General Manager of Australia, Kathryn O’Brien, expressed her excitement about the restart of the seasonal services, saying, “We’re thrilled to welcome our seasonal services back to Cairns and look forward to welcoming even more Aussies onboard over the next few months. The seasonal Auckland to Cairns service provides the perfect excuse for a getaway to explore New Zealand.”

O’Brien added, “Whether you’re an adventure seeker, looking for a family getaway or a solo traveller, New Zealand has something for everyone, including stunning snow-capped mountains and pristine beaches.”

Air New Zealand, known for its warm Kiwi hospitality, operates a modern fuel-efficient fleet of 98 aircraft, offering customers comfort in the latest most efficient jets and turboprops. The airline was named the World’s Safest Airline in 2022 by the Australian rating service AirlineRatings.com and won Best Corporate Reputation in New Zealand for the 8th year in a row.
