STARLUX Airlines, one of Alaska Airlines’ newest global partners, has announced that it will begin new nonstop service between Taipei and Seattle this summer. The inaugural flight from Seattle is scheduled for August 16, 2023, with the airline initially offering three weekly flights and connections to destinations across Asia. Seattle will be STARLUX’s third nonstop U.S. destination from Taipei, following Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Brett Catlin, Vice President of Loyalty, Alliances and Sales at Alaska Airlines, expressed pride in being STARLUX’s first airline partner and excitement about the possibilities for their guests with the premier international airline beginning service at their main hub in Seattle. “STARLUX delivers an exceptional experience in all classes of service, but if you’re fortunate enough to fly in first or business class, prepare to be pampered,” Catlin said.
STARLUX provides an international gateway through its main hub in Taipei with connections to more than 20 destinations across Asia, including Bangkok, Hanoi, Penang, Cebu, Singapore, Macau, and more than nine destinations in Japan. The airline will operate the transpacific route using its new-generation Airbus A350-900 aircraft, configured in a four-class layout: First, business, premium economy, and economy.

STARLUX offers a range of amenities and services, including Taiwanese signature dishes prepared for passengers in all classes, as well as the ability for passengers to pre-order meals online. As an added convenience for Alaska Airlines guests, STARLUX flights from the West Coast to Taipei can now be purchased directly at alaskaair.com, including the new Seattle flight. Alaska’s Mileage Plan members can also earn and redeem miles on STARLUX flights.
