Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport becomes 100th airport accredited in ACI World Customer Experience Program

ACI World has announced that Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport (CEI) in Thailand has become the 100th airport to achieve accreditation in the ACI World Customer Experience Accreditation Program. This milestone highlights the global commitment of airports to enhancing the passenger experience.

The accreditation program, delivered in partnership with travel technology company Amadeus, provides airports with the tools and strategies necessary to improve customer experience management. Participating airports undergo a comprehensive assessment and training process that includes stakeholder engagement, employee development, and service improvement initiatives.

ACI World Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira said, “As Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport joins the prestigious roster of airports accredited in the ACI World Customer Experience Program, it underscores its position as a global leader in airport management and its commitment to providing passengers with unparalleled service and experiences. Achieving our 100th milestone is testament to our airport members’ dedication to prioritizing passengers and employees.”

With global passenger traffic projected to reach 9.7 billion by the end of 2024 and potentially doubling by 2042, the accreditation program provides a crucial framework for airports, service providers, and stakeholders to align on common objectives and develop a shared vision for customer experience excellence.

Dr. Kijmanawat Kerati, President of Airports of Thailand, expressed pride in Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport’s dedication to creating a culture of customer-centricity and continuously improving service quality, stating, “We are committed to prioritizing the needs of our passengers and delivering excellence in every aspect of the passenger experience.”

The announcement coincides with the start of the ACI World #AirportCX Celebration Week, running from 22–28 April 2024, which aims to celebrate and promote exceptional customer experiences for travelers on a global level.
