With the resumption of 24 weekly flights between China and Munich, travel between the cities of Shanghai, Beijing, and the Bavarian capital is back in full swing. To enhance the visitor experience for Chinese passengers, Munich Airport has reintroduced free personal shopping assistance in Terminal 2.

The service, which was previously available from 2015 to 2020 but temporarily suspended due to the pandemic, aims to break down language barriers and make the stay more enjoyable for Chinese guests. Chinese-speaking shopping assistants are on hand to help passengers with their shopping needs, as well as provide assistance with security checks, customs clearance, and VAT refunds.

The shopping assistance service is provided by Terminal 2 Gesellschaft, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Munich Airport, as part of their ongoing efforts to improve the passenger experience. Chinese guests can contact the shopping assistants on the spot at the airport or book the service in advance by calling +49 172 21 14 772 during service hours.

Ivonne Kuger, Managing Director of Terminal 2 Gesellschaft, expressed her delight at welcoming more passengers from China and being able to offer them this exclusive service in the terminal.

The reintroduction of the shopping assistance service comes as a welcome addition for Chinese passengers traveling through Munich Airport, as it not only helps them navigate the shopping experience but also provides support with other aspects of their journey. By offering this personalized service, Munich Airport aims to create a more welcoming and convenient environment for its Chinese guests.

As travel between China and Munich continues to grow, the shopping assistance service is expected to play an important role in enhancing the overall passenger experience and strengthening the airport’s position as a key hub for Chinese travelers visiting Europe.
