Thai Airways has announced a major technology upgrade through an expanded partnership with travel technology company Amadeus.

The airline will revamp its website and mobile booking channels using Amadeus’ Digital Experience Suite to offer passengers a more personalized and seamless travel experience.

Thai Airways will implement Amadeus’ Network Revenue Management system to optimize pricing and route planning through advanced machine learning techniques.

The carrier will also adopt Amadeus’ Xchange Payment Platform to accept a wider range of payment methods globally.

Nuthaphol Amawatana, Head of Pricing and Revenue Management at Thai Airways, said: “This is a major technology investment and upgrade for Thai Airways and will provide the building blocks of our business transformation.”

He added: “We’ll now be able to offer travelers a more modern and seamless booking experience whether they are visiting our website or searching for travel via our mobile app.”

The expanded agreement includes renewing Thai Airways’ distribution deal with Amadeus, giving travel sellers in Thailand continued access to the airline’s domestic content.

Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President at Amadeus, said: “The agreement signed today is a milestone for us and we look forward to working hand in hand with the carrier on its transformation journey.”

The technology upgrades come as Thai Airways focuses on growing revenue and enhancing the passenger experience following its post-pandemic restructuring.

The airline expressed confidence that the Amadeus partnership and new technology solutions will support its growth ambitions and business goals in the years ahead.
