British Airways expands Southeast Asian destinations through Bangkok Airways partnership

British Airways has announced an expanded codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways, giving UK travelers easier access to popular holiday spots in Thailand and Cambodia.

Key points:

  • British Airways customers can now book single tickets from London via Bangkok to five new destinations:
Phuket, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai in Thailand
Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia
  • The airline is increasing its London Gatwick to Bangkok service from 3 to up to 5 times per week between January and March 2025.
  • Executive Club members will earn Avios and Tier Points on codeshare flights operated by Bangkok Airways.
  • Codeshare tickets are available for travel from 28 October 2024.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, said the expanded partnership makes sought-after holiday destinations more accessible for leisure customers.

Bangkok Airways’ Vice President Chulin Kocharoen noted the agreement strengthens both airlines’ networks and offers travelers convenient access to new gateways.

The partnership allows British Airways customers to connect seamlessly in Bangkok, with the option to incorporate a stopover before continuing to their final destination.

This expansion builds on British Airways’ existing codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways for travel between Singapore and Koh Samui.
