Airbus reports €275 million share buyback over four weeks

Airbus SE has disclosed details of its latest share buyback transactions conducted between September 30 and October 4, 2024.

The European aerospace giant repurchased 1,053,229 of its own shares during the five-day period at an average price of €128.10 per share.

The buybacks are part of a programme announced on September 9, 2024 to support future employee share ownership plans and equity-based compensation schemes.

Airbus said the total number of shares purchased under the programme from September 9 to October 4, 2024 amounted to 2,127,000 shares at a total cost of €275.89 million.

The company is authorized to repurchase up to 10% of its issued share capital, as approved by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on April 10, 2024.

The largest single-day repurchase during the reported period occurred on October 3, when Airbus bought back 342,830 shares across two exchanges.

Daily repurchase volumes ranged from 43,348 to 299,482 shares, with prices varying between €126.55 and €131.96 per share.
