Brazilian aerospace company Embraer has expanded its industrial cooperation in the Netherlands following the country’s purchase of the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft.
The company selected Fokker Services Group to deliver modifications preparing the C-390 for NATO special operations missions.
Embraer also forged research partnerships with the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre (Royal NLR) to develop aircraft maintenance technologies.
“Our collaboration with the Dutch Armed Forces, defense industry, and research organizations is an integral part of Embraer’s vision,” said Bosco Da Costa Junior, President & CEO of Embraer Defense & Security.
Dutch firm Multisim will work with Rheinmetall to develop virtual training technologies and supply components for the C-390’s full-flight mission simulator.
The partnerships align with Dutch policies aimed at strengthening the country’s defense technology and industrial capabilities.
Jan Christiaan Dicke, Commissioner Military Production at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, said the collaboration would benefit both Dutch companies and Embraer.
“The Dutch Industrial Participation Policy supports and strengthens the Netherlands’ Defense Technology Industrial Base by fostering knowledge, technology and industrial capacity,” Dicke said.
The announcement follows the Netherlands’ acquisition of the C-390 Millennium, a multi-mission transport aircraft capable of conducting military and humanitarian operations.
