Qatar Airways recruits Kevin Hart to boost safety video engagement

written by Newsdesk | December 3, 2024

Qatar Airways has unveiled a star-studded in-flight safety video featuring comedian Kevin Hart as its new Global Brand Ambassador, aiming to capture passenger attention through entertainment.

The video, directed by Hollywood filmmaker Tim Story, will debut on select flights in December before rolling out across the entire fleet by January 2025.

Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and social media personalities Khaby Lame, Anwar and Amal Jibawi, and Adam Waheed join Hart in demonstrating essential safety procedures.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said the airline aimed to combat declining attention to safety videos as passengers increasingly turn to personal devices.

“We decided there was no better way to capture their attention than with their favourite celebrities and content creators,” Al-Meer said.

Hart said the video breaks new ground for airline safety presentations.

“This safety video is unlike anything you have seen on-board a luxury airline before,” Hart said.

“I have loved partnering with Qatar Airways to produce a video that passengers will not only pay attention to but remember for a long time coming, or at least until their next flight.”

Director Tim Story praised Qatar Airways for allowing creative freedom in the project.

“When you have a world-class brand such as Qatar Airways stepping out of conventional boxes and providing the creative freedom to set new boundaries, you can really reach new heights,” Story said.

The safety video features various global destinations including Nairobi, Paris, New York, Sydney and locations across Qatar.
