Boeing names former Pentagon tech chief as new IT head

written by Newsdesk | January 6, 2025

Boeing has appointed former US Department of Defense chief information officer Dana Deasy to lead its technology and data analytics division.

Deasy will take on the role of chief information digital officer and senior vice president of Information Technology & Data Analytics, effective December 31, 2024.

In his new position, Deasy will be responsible for overseeing information technology, information security, and data and analytics operations at the aerospace company.

He will report directly to Boeing President and CEO Kelly Ortberg and join the company’s Executive Council.

“Dana is a well-respected, global technology leader who has a track record of delivering on innovative technologies across large and complex organizations,” Ortberg said.

“With the need to stay vigilant to protect against cyber threats, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence playing a larger role across all industries, our IT team will have a key role as we focus on meeting our safety and quality goals, delivering reliably for our customers and positioning ourselves for the future.”

Deasy brings more than four decades of technology leadership experience across multiple industries to the role.
