Vietjet has added 12 new aircraft to its fleet including two Airbus A321neo planes and four wet-leased aircraft.
The Vietnamese carrier received two A321neo ACF (Airbus Cabin Flex) aircraft from Airbus in late December 2024.
The airline secured an additional four wet-leased aircraft in January 2025 to handle increased passenger demand during lunar new year celebrations.
Throughout 2024, Vietjet expanded its fleet with 10 new aircraft, bringing its total Airbus fleet to 115 planes.
The carrier now operates more than 170 domestic and international routes across Asia-Pacific, including services to Australia, India, China, Japan and South Korea.
The new A321neo ACF aircraft can accommodate up to 240 passengers and feature reduced emissions and noise levels compared to previous models.
The airline said the fleet expansion aligned with its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
“These milestones cap off a remarkable year of continuous growth and flight network expansion,” Vietjet said.
The new aircraft will enter service in early 2025 to help meet passenger demand during peak travel periods.
Vietjet flies to destinations across Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia.
