Embraer has unveiled plans to invest US$3.5 billion by 2030 as part of Brazil’s national industry development program.
The aerospace manufacturer announced the investment during a ceremony for Mission 6 of the New Industry Brazil initiative in Brasília, attended by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The funding will support increased aircraft production, international market expansion and development of sustainable technologies, including electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles through its EVE subsidiary.
Embraer President and CEO Francisco Gomes Neto said the program would boost Brazil’s competitiveness.
“The New Industry Brazil program plays an essential role in the resumption of the country’s competitiveness,” Mr Gomes Neto said.
The company has created more than 2500 jobs in the past two years, with its global workforce now at 23,500 employees, including 18,000 in Brazil.
The investment aligns with Embraer’s five-year growth strategy and its push towards low-carbon aviation technology.
The announcement came during a government ceremony focused on technologies for national sovereignty and defence.
Embraer continues to maintain partnerships with government agencies and universities to advance aerospace innovation in Brazil.
