The start-up Australian Helicopter Industry Association (AHIA) has appointed a volunteer steering committee as it moves toward its first annual meeting.
Longtime Bell Helicopter sales executive Peter Crook has been named the steering committee president, with Mark Scrymgeour acting as vice president. Mr Scrymgeour is the fleet logistics manager for refrigerated transport company Fridgelog. Both are based in Sydney.
Aviation marketing consultant and writer Rob Rich, who convened the AHIA, will serve as secretary/treasurer and head of development, membership and expositions. He is based in Brisbane.
The AHIA is seeking funding from Aerospace Aviation Limited (AAL), the organiser of the Australian International Airshow at Avalon Airport. The AAL is due to consider AHIA’s request for assistance at its August 30 board meeting.
The AHIA has scheduled is inaugural general meeting for November 3 at Brisbane Airport.
