Singapore is leading business aircraft sales growth in Asia, recording a 500 per cent increase in sales over the last five years, according to Hawker Beechcraft. This compares with 394 per cent in China and 389 per cent in Hong Kong.
Across Asia, bizjet sales have increased by an average 139 per cent, with 282 units sold in the last five years compared to 118 in the five years to 2006, prior to the GFC. Only Japan recorded a decline in sales, down 30 per cent.
Hawker Beechcraft, which has sold 15 aircraft in Asia so far this year, expects the trend to continue, saying: “Asia’s share of global business aircraft deliveries has increased over the last ten years and we expect this to continue to grow, reflecting the increasing influence and economic development of emerging markets.”
