RwandAir celebrated the first anniversary of its direct flight service between Paris and Kigali, strengthening connections between Europe and Africa.
The airline launched the route in June 2023, operating three flights per week between the French capital and Rwanda’s capital city.
Over the past year, RwandAir has operated more than 150 flights on the route to meet growing demand from the European market.
RwandAir remains the only carrier offering direct flights between Paris and Kigali, providing a gateway to destinations across East, West, Central and Southern Africa via connections through its Kigali hub.
Deogratias Higiro, RwandAir’s country manager in Paris, said: “We are proud to mark this milestone and the ongoing success of RwandAir’s direct flights between Paris and Kigali. This route has played a vital role in expanding our global connectivity and demonstrating our dedication to offering an outstanding travel experience for our customers.”
He added: “We have seen a growing demand from the French market, reflecting the strong ties and mutual interests between Rwanda and France. Our direct flights have made travel more convenient for our valued customers and serve as a bridge to increase tourism, business, and cultural ties between both countries.”
The outbound flight WB700 departs Kigali at 00:50 AM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 09:30 AM the same day.
The return flight WB701 leaves Paris at 09:30 PM on the same days, landing in Kigali at 06:00 AM the following morning.
RwandAir highlighted its generous baggage allowance, with Economy passengers able to check in two 23kg bags and Business Class travelers allowed three 23kg bags.
As the 2024 Summer Olympics approach, the airline noted it will provide special assistance for some athletes traveling to Paris for the games.
RwandAir currently operates a fleet of 14 aircraft serving 24 destinations across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
