written by Newsdesk | October 31, 2024

More than 35,000 American Airlines technical operations, fleet service, cargo and central load planning employees have voted to accept a new 27-month contract extension.

The agreement covers improved economic conditions and pay rate increases for workers represented by the TWU-IAM Association.

American Airlines CEO Robert Isom welcomed the ratification of the new agreement.

“With this new agreement, our TWU-IAM Association-represented team members join their colleagues who have all approved new agreements that underscore American’s commitment to ensuring our team is paid well and competitively,” Isom said.

The deal positions American Airlines workers among the highest-paid in the aviation industry.

Isom praised the negotiating teams from both the airline and union for reaching a swift agreement.

The contract extension follows a series of new labour agreements at the US carrier, which operates thousands of daily flights to more than 350 destinations across 60 countries.
