There were 1.966 million international passengers in August, making it the fifth consecutive month of month-on-month traffic growth.  Total available seats were also up, by 5.7 per cent, with the number of flights increasing by 7.4 per cent. Freight volumes decreased by 4.5 per cent.

Qantas again remained the largest international carrier with a 19.8 per cent market share, although this was down 4.7 percentage points on the same time last year. Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand saw their share of international traffic decrease.
