Jetstar has launched a new credit card which will offer cardholders credits towards flights on the airline.
Launched in conjunction with Macquarie Bank on October 28, the Jetstar Mastercard offers a low interest rate and will allow cardholders to earn ‘Jetstar Dollars’ which can be redeemed for flight vouchers to use across the Jetstar network. The card will accrue one cent in Jetstar Dollars for every dollar spent on everyday purchases and two cents for every dollar spent on everyday purchases on the Jetstar Platinum MasterCard.
“We aim to do for credit cards what Jetstar did for low fares airline travel in Australia when we launched back in 2004 – to present consumers a choice with real benefits and with a low every day rate of 10.99 per cent,” said Jetstar CEO Bruce Buchanan.
Jetstar says that it is also working on a mechanism whereby cardholders will be able to use their Jetstar Dollars to purchase Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
