New_PEAS 27Music group the ‘The Black Eyed Peas’ have set a world record by performing to nearly 140 passengers on a special Virgin Blue charter flight from Melbourne to Perth on Friday.

The band jammed during the private four hour flight at an altitude of up to 41,000ft to break the current Guinness World Record for ‘highest ever concert performed on an aircraft, set by ‘Jamairoquai’ in 2007.

“This is the first Guinness World Record breaking stunt we’ve been involved with and we’re just thrilled to have been a part of it by partnering with The Black Eyed Peas and successfully pulling off an inflight gig of this magnitude,” said VB CEO Brett Godfrey. “So I’d like to send my congratulations to The Peas and also to the extensive Virgin Blue team who have worked day and night for months to turn a ‘crazy idea’ into a reality.”
