OOL university building gets approval

written by WOFA | October 14, 2009

Infrastructure & Transport Minister Anthony Albanese has approved the construction of second building at the Gold Coast Airport campus of Southern Cross University.

The $50 million facility will include lecture and teaching spaces, faculty offices and student facilities and is due for completion in 2012. It was part of a major development plan and as such required ministerial approval following a public comment period, while it is also consistent with the airport’s 2006 master plan.

“Consistent with the regulatory changes that came into effect in September, all future developments at the airport will need to be subjected to a Major Development Planning process,” said Minister Albanese.

Gold Coast Airport now has 50 days to make its MDP available to the public.
