An October 14 ADF media release says three RAAF C-130 Hercules transports have been flying constantly between Jakarta, Darwin and Padang to take in more than 230 tonnes of relief supplies and other cargo for the residents and recovery teams there. Items such as vehicles and recovery equipment as well as basic items such as food, water and blankets have been flown in by the aircraft.

Other aircraft from the US and charter organisations are also assisting in the effort. HMAS Kanimbla is en route to Padang with a Sea King helicopter and amphibious watercraft to also assist in the effort.
