Perth Airport welcomes roads upgrade

written by WOFA | November 20, 2009

Perth Airport has welcomed a commitment from the WA government to give top priority to upgrading the arterial roads in the vicinity of the airport.

Perth Airport has been assisting the state government to develop plans for arterial road upgrades in the vicinity of Kewdale and Perth Airport, particularly Tonkin Highway and its connections with Leach Highway, Horrie Miller Drive and Roe Highway.

“The redevelopment of Perth Airport and the government’s plans to upgrade the city’s highways in the Kewdale area will combine to deliver a greatly improved experience for local airport users, international visitors and local residents who will benefit from less congestion” said Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches.

“We can continue with our plans to progressively consolidate all passenger air services into the international precinct knowing that the arterial road network will also be upgraded to meet the needs of the new airport.”
