Turbo Airvan gets FAA, EASA certification

written by WOFA | November 10, 2009

TURBOCHARGED AIRVAN PIC v2The US Federal Aviation Administration and European Aviation Safety Agency have certificated the turbocharged Gippsland Aeronautics GA8-TC 320 Airvan.

Several GA8-TC 320 Airvans have already been delivered to customers in Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea, while one is already in Europe where it will shortly be registered in France to skydive operator ChuteXtrem. Deliveries to North American customers will begin in early 2010.

The TC 320 Airvan is powered by a turbocharged Lycoming TIO-540-AH1A 320hp (240kW)  engine driving a three-blade Hartzell propeller, which increases the aircraft’s performance at altitude compared to the normally-aspirated Airvan.
