g250-firstflight-hiresGulfstream Aerospace has announced that its large cabin, mid range G250 made its first flight from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport on December 11.

The aircraft, which is being designed and built in collaboration with Israeli Aircraft Industries, made a 3 hour 21 minute flight from Ben Gurion which saw the aircraft reach an altitude of 32000ft and achieve a speed of 253kt. The flight also tested the jet’s flight-handling qualities and characteristics, and performed initial checks of several aircraft systems, with the aircraft performing as expected.

The G250 was rolled out in October, and is scheduled for certification and entry into service during 2011.
