India grounds Su-30s after crash

040224-F-0000S-007India has grounded its fleet of about 100 Su-30 and Su-30MKI strike fighters for the second time this year for inspections following a crash caused by an apparent engine fire.

The crash, which occurred on November 30, is the second this year following an incident on April 30 in which a pilot was killed. Both crew members in the November 30 crash successfully ejected. Initial reports indicate there was an engine fire warning shortly before the latest crash.
