written by WOFA | December 2, 2009

F100 VH-FNR XR PERTH 18JUN 06 LES BUSHELL.JPG-1Skywest Airlines is to list on the Australian Securities Exchange from December 7 under the ticker code ‘SXR’.

The airline says that it hopes through listing on the ASX to improve its liquidity and to gain greater access to Australian investors. It is understood that the airline is seeking to increase its Australian ownership to 51 per cent in order for it to operate international services in the future.

Skywest was originally floated on the ASX in 2003 after being acquired in 2002 by a group of private investors from the administrators of Ansett. It was delisted a year later when it was taken over by Singapore based CaptiveVision Capital Ltd, which was renamed Skywest Airlines Limited and listed on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternate Investment Market.
