A biomass derived fuel intended for the GA market has been approved as a drop-in replacement for 100 octane low-lead fuel by ASTM International, according to US based manufacturer Swift Enterprises.
Swift’s president and co-owner Mary Rusek said that the fuel, labelled 100SF, will now undergo full scale testing in association with the FAA and original equipment manufacturers for compatibility with aircraft systems, engines and materials before it can be certified as an airworthy fuel.
“100SF will be comparably priced, environmentally friendlier and more fuel-efficient than other general aviation fuels on the market,” Rusek said.
