Airbus delivered its 6000th aircraft on January 19, an A380 to Emirates which is that carrier’s eighth of the type.
To commemorate the milestone, more than 200 guests attended a special delivery ceremony at Airbus’s Hamburg delivery centre. The aircraft also features a special inscription alongside the Emirates livery noting that it is the 6000th aircraft to be produced by the European manufacturer.
The latest delivery brings to 25 the number of A380s delivered. Emirates has a further 50 of the giant aircraft on order, with all powered by Engine Alliance GP7200s.
