Embraer has reported it delivered  244 aircraft in 2009, 40 more than in 2008 on the back of increased business jet deliveries. Airliner deliveries for the year were down 25 per cent.

Commercial airlines comprised exactly half of the delivery total, with 122 airliners delivered in 2009 comprising seven ERJ-145s, 22 E-170s, 11 E-175s, 62 E-190s and 20 E-195s. This compares to the 162 airliners Embraer delivered in 2008. Deliveries of the Phenom 100 very light jet boosted business aircraft deliveries to 115, comprising no fewer than 93 Phenom 100s, plus a single Phenom 300, 18 Legacy 600s and three Lineage 1000s. Military/government customers took delivery of one ERJ-135, four Phenom 100s and two E-190s.

At December 31 Embraer says the value of its order backlog stood at US$16.6bn (A$17.9bn), including 265 E-Jet family aircraft.
