Qantas A380 First suite wins design award

written by WOFA | January 22, 2010

Qantas’s First Class Suite on the A380 has been awarded a Good Design Award by the Chicago Athaneum.

“This award continues to build on the positive feedback from both our customers and the industry on the Qantas A380. It reinforces the value of a well designed inflight product, particularly for long haul flights,” said Qantas executive manager customer and marketing Lesley Grant.

The First Class Suite was designed by Marc Newson and manufactured by B/E Aerospace’s VIP jet group, and features a lie-flat bed complemented by a foam mattress and fitted sheeting, a leather guest seat, 17 inch LCD widescreen video monitor as well as USB, PC power and internet ports.

This is the second Good Design Award Qantas has won, with the Marc Newson designed Skybed business class suite having won the award in 2004.
